The balance can be operated using AC power, or with the integrated rechargeable battery for up to 24 hours for full mobility in the field and when a power supply is hard to find. This balance has an automatic internal calibration system and an overload protection that prevents damage to the weighing cell and balance if too-heavy samples are mistakenly used. Integrated RS-232 and USB ports are available to transfer data to a printer or PC using the included cables. The below-balance weighing hook suspends bulky items beneath the balance for weighing.
The balance has a digital display with a backlight for increased readability in low light conditions.
